Sharjah residents and visitors across the UAE looking for a fun and tranquil weekend over the kick-off of the winter season has set their calendars for one of the emirate’s outdoor food event, KSHTA, organised by The Flag Island (TFI) which has commenced on November 1^st 2018.

“KSHTA” has kicked off along the celebrations of the UAE Flag Day on 1^st November, 2018 and the grand flag were raised during the ceremony at 11:00 am. This food trucks event will stretch for three months until 1 February 2019, featuring a plethora of cultural and entertainment activities for people of all age groups, alongside presenting visitors with a multitude of interesting culinary offerings by a variety of food trucks.

The Flag Island, Sharjah’s picturesque outdoor destination, will use the upcoming event as an opportunity to introduce food trucks’ brands who will be serving a variety of food, desserts, hot and cold beverages, ice-creams displaying their respective menu items from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm during weekdays, and till 12:00 midnight during weekends (Thursday and Friday). The programme features magic and other entertainment shows, music performances, classic cars exhibition and a variety of kid’s play and crafts activities – all designed to elevate visitors’ outdoor experience and offer residents and tourists a unique opportunity to enjoy relaxed afternoons with family and friends over great food and vibrant entertainment.

On 2^nd November, TFI has organised a special programme of events for visitors. The programme includes ‘Motorbikes Ride’ in collaboration with Emirates Falcon Bikers; a drive that has started from Al Dhaid Flag Square and ends to assemble at the TFI parking lot in the evening for viewing and great photo opportunities, the international festival contest ‘Kalinka’, will be on the same evening showcasing captivating activities packed with folklore performance, Russian songs, and traditional dances.

Khuloud Salem Al Junaibi, Manager of The Flag Island, has welcomed visitors to the event, saying: “KSHTA is here again at The Flag Island to entertain and enable people to enjoy a range of outdoor activities in good weather, live music and great food coming out fresh from dozens of food trucks who will be participating from all over the UAE. Through the event, we aim to promote our objective to bring families together and involve them in vibrant community activities that give them a great social gathering to be part of, and add to their happiness and wellbeing.”
