Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA), a world-leading performing arts educational institution, has announced the launch of live auditions and interviews, as well as campus tours, theatrical workshops and vocational masterclasses, which will prepare raw talent to develop into the performing arts stars, directors and award-winning producers of tomorrow.

During the open days and auditions which take place on 15 October 2022 and then later on 1, 2 and 3 November 2022, aspiring students will have the chance to network with faculty heads, academic leaders and teachers and meet the current crop of SPAA students, many of whom are already engaged within dance, theatre and dramatic arts as well as stage design and production, before embarking on a tour of the Academy’s impressive headquarters.

Following the tour, aspiring performers, designers, technicians and stage managers can seize the opportunity to fast-track their application and undertake live auditions and demonstrate their skills to faculty members including Jacqui George, Deputy Director and Programme Leader for Production Arts and Benedict Ayrton, Programme Leader for Acting, as part of their bids to study full-time Bachelor degrees in Acting, Production Arts and Musical Theatre, and the Trinity Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance.

During the immersive face-to-face auditions, prospective students are required to prepare and perform a speech or monologue, a musical song or solo dance, or present their portfolio of production work to the captive audience of SPAA’s academic leaders. To ensure the health and safety of all guests, participants and attendees are required to present a Green Pass on Al Hosn app or a negative PCR test taken not more than 48 hours for those who are unvaccinated.

SPAA is the leading performing arts academy of its kind in the region, offering quality undergraduate degree and diploma programmes in acting, musical theatre, production arts and dance for the future generation of exceptionally talented students.
