Sharjah Public Library Promoting Spirit Of Lifelong Learning In AIS Students
The Sharjah Public Library (SPL) recently signed an Agreement with the Australian International School (AIS). The agreement allows SPL to deliver a full range of library services to students and staff of AIS, including free lifetime memberships. Through the agreement, SPL seeks to create a dynamic learning platform that will spark intellectual curiosity in young students, encourage literacy discussions, provide overall support throughout their academic journey, and ultimately, drive their passion for lifelong learning.
The agreement was signed by Eman Bushulaibi, Director of SPL, and Steve McLuckie, Executive Principal of AIS, in the presence of a host of SPL and AIS representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Bushulaibi said: “The Sharjah Public Library is delighted to have established a vital relationship with AIS to fulfil our commitment of enabling student’s access to diversified sources of knowledge and better learning opportunities. We aim to create a comprehensive learning platform, which not only encourages students to become independent learners, but also allows them ample opportunities to socialise and engage with their peers and the community.”
She added: “SPL is constantly looking to expand its reach by providing educational resources that will facilitate meaningful learning among young students and lead to the development of society. This MoU with AIS is the perfect opportunity to allow their students easier access to books and learning materials. We are confident that this partnership will strongly supplement the students’ holistic developmental journeys and aid them in their quest to acquire a quality education.”
Steve McLuckie, Executive Principal of AIS, said: “We are thrilled to be in partnership with the Sharjah Public Library. Together we can ensure that our children’s hearts and minds are further enriched through the power and passion of books!”
