Sharjah Ports And Border Points Committee Reviews KhatmMilaha’s Infrastructure Development Project
The OrganisationalCommittee of Ports and Border Points in the Emirate of Sharjahrecently held its sixth periodic meeting for the year 2024 in the city of Dibba Al-Hisn.
The meeting reviewedthe workflow progress of the infrastructure development project at theKhatmMilaha Border Point, which is carried out by the Roads and Transport Authority of the Government of Sharjah.
The Committee also discussed the work mechanisms and tasks undertaken by various ports and border points in the emirate, in collaboration with relevant authorities, to manage the flow ofinbound and outbound travelers during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Headed by HE Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs and Chairman of the Committee, the meeting was attended byLieutenant Colonel Walid Mohammed Al-Nehm, Head of the Outside Outlets Police Department at the General Command of Sharjah Police, and Lieutenant Colonel Imran Al Shamsi, Director of the KhatmMilaha Border Point’sPassport Control Center.
Also present were ColonelMohammed Al-Afari from the National Guard Command; Mohammed Al-Serkal, Director of Customs Services and Security at the Federal Customs Authority; Abdul Rahman Al-Kindi, Sharjah Ports and Border Points Committee Rapporteur, and Khaled Al-Kaabi from the General Directorate for Port Security, affiliated withthe Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security, in addition to a representative of the UAE’s State Security Department (SSD).
HE Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi affirmed that Sharjah Ports and Border Points Committee’s periodic meeting comes as part of the committee’s keenness to follow up on work performance at the emirate’s ports and border points.
The committee is committed to providing seamless services for inbound and outbound travelers and expediting the transport and entry of goods. It plays a crucial role in fostering cooperation and coordination among relevant authorities,evaluating efforts, and identifying areas of success and excellence to achieve further development.
The Sharjah Ports and Border Points Committee’s meeting’s agenda included an inspection tour of Dibba Al-Hisn’s Eastern and Western Border Points.
During the tour, the Committee expressed its gratitude to the Government of Sharjah for its unwavering support, ongoing supervision, and allocation of resources to optimise operations and facilitate procedures at the ports and border points. Special thanks were given for the intensified efforts exerted during Eid Al-Adha to receive the flow of inbound travelers, especially at the KhatmatMilaha, Dibba Al-Hisn and Al-Madam’s border points.
