Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA) is excited to announce the launch of its 2024 Happy Holiday Summer Camp that offers a diverse array of educational and entertaining activities for children aged 6-12 in both Arabic and English languages.

Activities will take place across six museums namely Sharjah Maritime Museum, Sharjah Aquarium, Sharjah Archaeology Museum, Sharjah Science Museum, Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, and Sharjah Art Museum.

The camp comes as part of the pivotal role museums play as unconventional educational centers that enrich knowledge and stimulate scientific and artistic curiosity among community members of all ages and abilities. Serving this goal, museums organize numerous programs, workshops, competitions, interactive activities, and exhibitions that contribute to skill development, foster creativity, and enhance individuals’ ability to innovate.

Sharjah Science Museum will kick off with its “Exploring Innovation” program from July 15 to July 18 and from July 22 to July 25.

This program allows children to delve into the world of innovation, learning the significance of scientific experiments in daily life and creating color shades.

Participants will additionally discover the power of magnets, explore celestial bodies and spacecraft, consider the possibility of life on other planets, create animations, practice printmaking, and enhance their innovative skills.

“A Journey into the World of Art,” at Sharjah Art Museum will present a captivating experience for children and teenagers aged 6 to 17, from July 15 to July 18 and from July 22 to July 25 where they can discover various types of art by experimenting different techniques and creating their own masterpieces.

Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization will offer the “A Journey into Science and Creativity” program in two phases: from July 15 to July 18 and from July 22 to July 25 where participants will uncover the secrets of chemistry, mathematics, engineering, and science through engaging experiments.

Attendees will also explore the world of clocks, stars, and light, and celebrate with musical instruments in an interactive atmosphere. Additionally, they will learn the art of ebru, Islamic patterns, and glass decorating.

Sharjah Archaeology Museum will offer the “Time Traveler: A Journey into the Past” program from July 22 to July 25 and from July 29 to August 1.

This program provides an exhilarating adventure in archaeology and discovery, where participants will learn about ancient trade routes and the fascinating toiletry used by our ancestors. The experience will be enriched with thrilling stories and fun competitions, making it unforgettable.

For maritime professionals, the Sharjah Maritime Museum will offer workshops from August 5 to August 8 and from August 12 to August 15, providing a comprehensive experience of shipbuilding, pearl diving, the courageous profession of diving, and the art of being a skilled pearl merchant.

At Sharjah Aquarium, young explorers are invited to uncover the secrets of the seas and the amazing marine creatures through the “Marine Creatures” program from August 5 to August 8 and from August 12 to August 15.

Participants will embark on an exciting adventure, meeting colorful fish, beautiful turtles, and enchanting starfish. They will also learn how precious pearls are extracted and gain fascinating knowledge about underwater life.
