Abiding by the UAE health authorities’ call for social distancing to restrict the spread of

Best Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr greeting cards competition
In the first activity, an online competition titled ‘Be creative’ has been organised for participants to submit greeting card designs for the occasions of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr. The winning artworks will be used by SGG on their social media platforms on these occasions.
The competition is open to Brownies (7-11 years), Guides (12-15 years), and Senior Guides (16+ years). The cards can be created using use water colours, acrylic, wax crayons, markers, or digitally.
7,000 Steps Challenge
To keep its young members active and ensure they continue exercising at home, SGG is also organising the ‘7,000 Steps Challenge’, where Brownies, Guides, and Senior Guides will be divided into teams of two. Each team member must complete a minimum of 7,000 steps. The team that completes the highest number of steps will win the competition.
Participants will track their activity using a digital application, Outwalk, and must complete the challenge between March 29 and April 4.
Shaikha Al Shamsi, Manager of SGG, said: “Through these home activities, we remain committed to our goal of nurturing the talents of our young members and ensure their well-being. At the same time, we encourage them to stay safe and raise their awareness about the importance of abiding by safety measures being advised by local authorities in charge for their own and their families’ sake.”
“These activities are also a good opportunity for parents to be a part of their children’s lives, identify their strengths and interests, and encourage their interactions with family members as well as with fellow SGG members while maintaining social distancing,” she added.
These activities are a part of SGG’s ‘Spring Challenges’ programme, which includes a series of challenging activities across many fields, including arts, science, sports, crafts, life skills and many others, that will be conducted at home. The winners will be presented exciting prizes.
