SCCI Organizes The Business Councils Tour 2020
Under the theme “Sharjah the Smiling Innovation Environment”, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, SCCI, organized on Monday a tour to the Sharjah Investors Services Center “Saeed” and the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park.
The tour was targeting the heads and members of labor councils in the UAE to brief them about the most important cultural landmarks of the Emirate of Sharjah and introducing them to its major leading projects, its future innovative plans, and the continuous progress and development it witnesses in all aspects of life and on various economic, tourism and cultural levels.
The tour was attended by HE Waleed Abdul Rahman Bukhatir, Second Vice Chairman of SCCI, Muhammad Rashid Al Dimas and Nasser Musabih Al Tunaiji members of the SCCI Board of Directors, HE Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI.
Reviving Means of Communication and Strengthening Relationships
HE Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, stressed that organizing the 2nd edition of the Business Councils Tour comes as part of the SCCI’s strong belief that is one of the most important means aimed at strengthening ties between different countries and supporting mutual relations between economic sectors and business circles in those countries.
“The tour is also a significant milestone for businessmen and officials to reinforce the means of communication and consolidate the relationships that have arisen and developed over the past years, as well as a perfect opportunity for establishing new relationships, exchanging knowledge, learning about different experiences, and discussing the possibility of implementing new projects as part of the development plans of our wise government,”
Future and Innovative Projects
HE Waleed Abdul Rahman Bukhatir said “The positive impact of this initiative was apparent in its 1st edition, in terms of the level of economic and commercial cooperation between Sharjah and the various friendly countries. Such tours would ultimately help serve the business communities after closely learning about Sharjah’s advantages and investment opportunities in various domains besides its regional and global role economically and commercially,” .
“This year’s tour includes a number of institutions reflecting the progress made by the Emirate of Sharjah in all sectors, especially in the field of trailblazing and distinguished services provided to investors, development projects, and development of public facilities as well as to provide a glimpse of the most important innovative future projects, research, and technology, and highlight the activities and projects in the Emirate of Sharjah, which clearly reflect the theme of our tour,” he added.
Holistic and Sustainable Development
HE Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi said: “The primary goal of this tour is to highlight the progress made by the Emirate of Sharjah in all sectors and promote its regional role economically, commercially and culturally, as well as the advantages and incentives offered by the Emirate to business community, in addition to shedding light on the Emirate’s efforts to achieve the holistic and sustainable development, and other development projects as part of its ambitious economic vision based on economic diversification.”
“The SCCI is keen on organizing this tour regularly as part of its eagerness to the support and success of the activities of Business Councils and to consolidate the partnership between the public and private sectors, thus scaling up the business environment to the highest levels, in line with the efforts made by the Sharjah Chamber to enhance Sharjah’s regional position and global reputation as a leading economic hub and attractive environment to investors in all fields,” added Al-Awadi.
Authorization to Form Councils
Heba Al Marzouqi, senior Executive of the business councils and joint committees of the SCCI announced the amended regulations which authorize the Sharjah Chamber to form business councils of brotherly and friendly countries to include businessmen from those countries and to be the entity that represents and expresses their aspirations and achieves the general goals in terms of enhancing mutual cooperation, increasing the volume of trade and investment exchange, introducing the business community to the available investment opportunities, and building future joint cooperation.
The Sharjah Chamber has also established a special section at the International Relations Department. The section is vested with business councils and joint committees to ensure the provision of the best services, so as to achieve real and sustainable economic development.
High Organizational Potential
The tour started with a visit to the Expo Center Sharjah, where the guests briefed on the facilities of the center, its organizational and logistical capabilities for the exhibiting companies and visitors. This reflects the center’s leading position and its importance at the global level in organizing and hosting many international exhibitions and conferences, as well as its role in strengthening the tourism, hospitality, and business sector.
The tour then moved to the Sharjah Investors Services Center “Saeed”, which is the first of its kind at the emirate level, where they were briefed on the service of issuing commercial licenses, how to obtain the necessary approvals for establishing new projects, and the Center services to investors and businessmen.
The tour was rounded off with a visit to the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, where the delegation Hosted by H.E. Abdalla Sultan Mohammed AlOwais, Chairman of the SCCI and Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, and acquainted with the most important features and facilities provided to investors, its future plans and its most important investments, thanks to the world-class services and the ideal environment that help companies and innovative investments to grow and prosper.
Commending the importance of this initiative, the heads and members of business councils thanked the SCCI for its efforts in highlighting emirate’s abundant economic and investment potential, and its keenness to strengthen relations with their countries and push it towards more prosperity and constructive cooperation.
