SCCI Discusses Harnessing Italian Technology In Boosting Sharjah’s Manufacturing Production
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, SCCI, recently discussed means of developing the economic cooperation with the Embassy of Italy to the UAE and the possibility of organizing joint economic events to find out the investment opportunities and enhance communication mechanisms between business communities in the two countries, as well as to make the most of modern Italian technologies in boosting Sharjah’s manufacturing production.
This came during the virtual meeting held between His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman, SCCI, and Mr. Nicolas Linner, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to the UAE, in the presence of His Excellency Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi, SCCI Director-General, and Fatima Khalifa Al Mokarrab, Director of International Relations Department, SCCI.
where the two sides reviewed issues of common interest that help drive the commercial, investment, and industrial relations between Sharjah and Italy to meet the aspirations of the private sector on both sides.
The meeting also touched on stimulating the private sector to actively participate in economic events and activities, especially after the gradual comeback of the economic life and the economic recovery from Covid-19 repercussions.
Abdullah Sultan Al Owais underscored that the SCCI is keen to boost the economic cooperation between Sharjah and Italy to advanced levels and to provide all the facilities and benefits that help strengthen the commercial relations and mutual investment and consolidate the ties between business communities in both countries, as well as to make the most of effective membership of the SCCI in the Federation of the UAE Chambers, and the Joint Italian Arab Chamber.
The SCCI Chairman highlighted the importance of the mutual participation in the economic events held in the two friendly countries, shedding light on the cooperation opportunities and utilization of the Italian expertise in the manufacturing and agricultural sectors and in the technical training field to help prepare high-caliber and competent human cadres that support market labor in the emirate.
His Excellency Nicolas Lennierkeenness to reinforce commercial and investment relationships between the private sectors in the two countries, stressing the Italian Embassy’s willingness to join hand with the SCCI in various domains that help support the mutual interests and the bilateral relations, and he pointed the interest of the private sector in Italy in participating in economic, commercial and cultural events and events that take place in the Emirate of Sharjah, where the past years witnessed a remarkable participation of Italian companies and institutions in a number of exhibitions and events organized or hosted by the Sharjah Expo Center.
Worth mentioning that the volume of trade exchange between the UAE and Italy reached 5.4 billion euros in 2019, including 3.93 billion euros of Italian exports to the UAE.
