National Day Celebration Committee-Sharjah concluded its 48th UAE National Day events on the 3rd of December, which exceeded 200 events held in 6 cities in the Emirate of Sharjah, with more than 170 visitors marking an increase in the number of attendees compared with last year’s National Day Celebrations which was 150 thousand visitors. The National Day celebrations started with the Flag Day celebration at the Flag Island and ended at the Sharjah National Park on the 3rd of December.

H.E Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Head of the National Day Celebration Committee-Sharjah stated that the National Day Celebration represents reaffirmation, loyalty and belonging to the United Arab Emirates and to the wise leadership, which continues to deliver more achievements and distinguish the Country and its leadership globally through progress, stability and happiness provided to the UAE people.

“This Occasion represents the pride of the UAE people, of the “Spirit of the Union” and the trust in a bright future in all the fields of life.” Al Midfa added.

Al Midfa thanked all the government authorities and entities that participated in the activities of the Committee, which played a vital role in its success. He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the audience who attended the events at the various sites of the celebrations, which were at the top of joy and happiness, and the vital interaction that reflects the depth of loyalty and belonging to the country and the wise leadership.

Outstanding events in Sharjah

Sharjah City witnessed 3 main events, which are Sharjah National Park events, “Enshodat Watan” Operetta that took place at Al Majaz Amphitheater, and the 2nd of December event at the Flag Island.

Enshodat Watan Operetta 

The Operetta “Enshodat Watan” at Al Majaz Amphitheater witnessed a great turnout and remarkable interaction. The Operetta was inspired by the words and vision of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, embodying H.H vision since the pre-union time until the declaration of the Union and our current time. The artistic professional masterpiece gathered the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan the Founder of the UAE and H.H the Ruler of Sharjah.

Sharjah National Park

Over 40 events on the course of 6 days took place at the Sharjah National Park, ranging between cultural, heritage, artistic, and awareness events with a great turnout, where the park sites were filled with citizens, visitors, families, and children.

Flag Island Amphitheater

On the 2nd of December, a concert by the Star Mohamed Al Shehhi saw a big number of audiences enjoying the various songs including national songs performed by the music star for over 2 hours.

Various events in the Eastern and Central Regions

Many events were held on Khorfakkan Corniche celebrating the 48^th UAE National Day presenting various shows and folklore performances. Where in Kalba City at the Corniche events witnessed an amazing interaction by the audiences.

The celebrations of Dibba Al Hisn City on Al Hisn Island were marked by a large presence that came to express loyalty and belonging to the homeland and wise leadership. The city of Al Dhaid witnessed a public March on Al Dhaid Main Street, as an expression of loyalty and affiliation to celebrate the homeland. Al Hamriyah City also witnessed the 48th UAE National Day celebrations at the Heritage Village.
