Open-Air Art And Games At Sharjah Children Biennial ‘Fun Day’

The Sharjah Children Biennial (SCB), is holding a ‘Fun Day’ every Thursday at the Mughaider Children’s Center for Arts as part of its 6th edition, ‘A Future as Big as Your Imagination’. It is an art and entertainment filled event, not just for the little ones, but for the entire family.
This Thursday, the event saw an exciting bubble show, a wall-mounted basketball game, as well as balloon-making, face-painting and interactive wall games. A life-size ‘cubes’ game saw children competing to reach the finish line by throwing a giant dice around, whereas several others enjoyed lively rounds of ‘foosball’.
Another highlight of the evening was the spray-paint art mural made by children and their parents, using the most vibrant colours, that created an interesting piece of art.
The SCB ‘Fun Day’ is open to the public and will be held every Thursday, until 20 March, on the sidelines of the sixth edition’s exhibition, at the Mughaider Children’s Center for Arts.
SCB is being held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators. It is organised by Sharjah Children, a subsidiary of Rubu’ Qarn Foundation, in collaboration with the UK-based art project ‘Little Inventors’.
This edition saw 3,494 submissions from children in 13 countries representing 42 nationalities. Of those, 48 entries were selected to be turned into real inventions and prototypes by a team of professional makers, designers and artists based in the UAE and beyond.
