Legendary Lebanese composer Marcel Khalife and Algerian singer-songwriter Souad Massi will be performing at the new season of #letsmajaz at Al Majaz Amphitheatre on March 13, 2020. The two cultural icons are known in the region and beyond for their ability to connect modern audiences to the best of Arabian musical heritage.

Marcel Khalife, dubbed the Bob Dylan of the Arabic world, and Souad Massi, Algerian singer, songwriter and guitarist, both have a reputation for delivering the greatest live musical performances, and are gearing up to delight UAE audiences with soul-stirring compositions in Sharjah.

Legendary singer, composer, and revered oud player Marcel Khalife has significantly expanded and reshaped the possibilities of Arab music into a universally communicative form of expression well beyond the horizons of the Arab world over the course of an illustrious career spanning almost five decades. His powerful, poetic music imbues everything from protest songs and political ballads, with an extraordinary spiritual intensity.

Sensitive, artistic and thoughtful, Khalife’s powerfully unifying songs are now part of the Arab musical heritage and often relate to the permanent question for freedom. The March 13 performance at Al Majaz Amphitheatre will be Khalife’s second appearance at this landmark entertainment destination.

Marking her debut at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, Souad Massi will regale the audience with her melancholy mixture of lyric-driven Berber, French and Arabic folk songs that explore sentiments of hope and positivity. With a voice full of human warmth and integrity, her honest, heartfelt songs anchored in current events, love of Algeria, and freedom will bring an undeniable magnetic energy to the open-air amphitheatre located in the heart of Al Majaz in Khalid lagoon.
