Jazz at the Island 2018, the two-day vibrant jazz festival taking place at Al Noor Island in Sharjah, debuts today (Friday) featuring the soul-music melodies of the famous Franco-Moroccan singer and actress Hindi Zahra, and the international tunes of the world-famous “Salha & the Million Dollar Band”, as confirmed by the organisers.

Taking place this weekend (Friday and Saturday), the rich headliners are scheduled according to the following order: Hindi Zahra will headline today’s (Friday) day-one of the festival, while “Salha & The Million Dollar Band” will headline tomorrow’s (Saturday) day-two of the festival. Both performances are held in collaboration with the Furat Qaddouri Music Centre and Sharjah World Music Festival.

The two-day performances will kick-start from 9:00pm each day, entrance fees to only include the regular access fees to Al Noor Island, giving visitors the unique and exclusive opportunity of visiting, experiencing and enjoying both international artists and jazz gurus at no additional cost.

Declared as “North-African Patti Smith,” Hindi Zahra’s debut in Sharjah bringing with her more than 8 years of mesmerizing soul, jazz, rock and funk music, which incorporates mix of African and Western compositions, demonstrating her known versatile talents, such as lyric writing, music playing, singing and painting. Sharjah will be Zahra’s latest gig, adding to her profile of more than 400 live shows since her debut album in 2010.
