The Pink Caravan breast cancer awareness initiative is getting the UAE community together once again this October in pursuit of its goal to make the nation healthier, safer and more cancer-aware.

In observance of the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Friends Of Cancer Patients (FOCP) initiative will be offering free breast screenings and expert medical consultations with the support of their partners at three public venues across in Sharjah and Dubai.

The Pink Caravan Permanent Mobile Medical Clinic will be at the Sharjah Ladies Club next Thursday, October 10, 2 – 10 pm; and at La Mer in Dubai the next day, October 11, 2 – 9 pm where their activation will be sponsored the destination’s management, MERAS. The third venue on the list is Dubai popular Kite beach, where the initiative’s medical experts will be offering awareness lectures, self-examination techniques and free screenings on October 28, 1 – 8 pm. The Kite beach event is sponsored by American Hospital.

Nationwide awareness this October

In addition to the free public activations, Pink Caravan will be carrying out a total of 32 activations in the UAE – 22 in Dubai, and 6 each in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah throughout October to draw attention and support towards the awareness, early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

They will be delivered as 18 Medical Mobile Clinic activations, 9 Mini Van events, and 7 Corporate Wellness Day events. Already several public and private sector entities have signed up to the ‘Pink Caravan Corporate Wellness Day’ programme this year, offering their employees to get free screenings and be educated through awareness lectures.

Pink Caravan has encouraged more private organisations and public entities in the UAE to come forward and sign up for Pink Caravan’s Corporate Wellness Day.

In 2018, Pink Caravan launched of its Permanent Mobile Medical Clinic which is a world’s mobile mammography unit equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostics equipment and latest technologies to offer breast cancer screening and mammography services. In 2019, Pink Caravan launched the Mini Van that offers a secure breast cancer screening spot.

As the UAE’s leading breast cancer awareness campaign, Pink Caravan has been at the forefront of the fight against breast cancer in the UAE. It’s Pink Caravan Ride campaign has conducted 64,012 examinations on 53,114 women and 10,897 men between 2011 and 2019; 18, 630 mammograms; 2,945 ultra sounds; and detected 74 positive cases.
