A first-of-its-kind initiative launched by Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) to translate 59 books of Emirati and Arab authors into Russian came to fruition at the 32^nd edition of Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF) 2019. A book signing ceremony was organised as part of Sharjah ‘Guest City’ celebrations at the book fair that runs till September 8. Some of the nation’s leading authors were on hand to sign copies of their books which were picked up by Russian readers.

Among the Emirati authors who signed copies of their books were researcher and writer Dr. Abdulaziz Almusallam; Author Noura al Noman; renowned actor Dr. Habeeb Ghuloom; researcher and writer Sultan Al Amimi; Professor of Old History at the UAE Dr. Hamad bin Saray; novelist Salha Gabish; writers Khulood Al Mualla and Eman Al Yousuf; poet Abdullah Al Hedeya; writer and journalist Nasser Al Dhahiri; researcher Mohammed bin Jarsh, Saeed Hamdan; and poet Shaikha Al Mutairi.
