With 11 symbolic scenes featuring a grand spectacle of music and stunning visual effects, the Narratives of the Place(Sard Al Makan) show will introduce audiences to highlights of Sharjah’s history, and its exceptional achievements and development journey over the past 50 years. The lighting, music, and dance extravaganza, featuring complicated choreographed moves executed in perfect synchrony, will be held on January 25-26 and 28-29 at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, Sharjah.

The 90-minute production opens with a spectacular display of music and lights and takes viewers directly into a scene of action exemplifying resistance against invaders. A similar pageantry marks the scene depicting the rising sun – in reference to the meaning of the word,‘Sharjah’.

More than 50 acclaimed artists and performers from the UAE and the world will mirror the life of the emirate’s forefathers and bring to life their pearl-hunting adventures. Through music, lights, singing and performances, the highly talented cast of acrobatic performers and artists will transform the stage into a fantastical world featuring the ocean and breaking waves.

As each scene effortlessly leads into another, the show recounts stories about Sharjah’s accomplishments and cultural project which have become a hallmark of the world’s creative cities and book capitals. From historical events to grand architecture and the visual identity of its public spaces, the changing scenes set the mood and transform the stage, transporting the audience directly into the heart of its unique setting.

As the show narrates the artistic and cultural achievements of Sharjah and its role in preserving heritage and supporting creativity, each scene immerses the audience in the world of the story.
