Having recently marked the 60th edition of World Theatre Day on Sunday, March 27, 2022, which sees theatre performers, thespians and artistes celebrate the value and importance of performing arts, Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA) invites residents, citizens and visitors to explore Sharjah’s diverse range cultural offerings.
Watch a power packed performance
On 31 March 2022, guests can enjoy an entertaining evening of theatrical storytelling, as performers will tell the story of Nimrod, a play written by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi.Through a blend of music, dance, and drama, the audience will be introduced to the Nimrod play, which explores themes of power, purpose and language in a thought-provoking performance. The production will give viewers an insight into the life of the historical figure Al-Nimrod (Nimrod) as he seizes power and claims divinity.

Strike a pose in Rain Room, an immersive contemporary art installation located in Al Majarrah, Sharjah – just a short drive from the Academy. Walk through the Rain Room without getting wet as the installation uses trigger sensors to pause the falling water wherever it senses motion.
Visit Sharjah’s reimagined cultural landmark
The House of Wisdom is a high-tech library and cultural centre featuring more than 100,000 books – some of which are dedicated to the arts.Reimagined as a library of the 21st century, the building’s design is inspired by modern architecture and comprises of 15 lobbies and halls spread across two storeys. Stop by this new cultural quarter to take in its beautiful design, including landscaped gardens and its large, “floating” roof.
