On its second day, Xposure International Photography Festival (Xposure 2021)turned into a learning platform for both experienced and amateur photographers from different walks of life, as world-renowned photographers presided over interesting workshops covering a wide range of topics pertaining to the art of photography.

In the first session, award-winning commercial photographer Mike Browne, talked to the participants about how composition has the power to make or mar the impact of a photograph. The workshop titled ‘Choreography of Composition’ was attended by photographers of all skill levels wherein Mike helped the participants to understand and address the main points in getting the composition of a picture on point.

“There is no right composition. It is more about what you want to express through your picture. Composition is not a camera function; it is a people-centric function. You need to move the camera and dance to the tunes of your story if you want a good capture,” said Mike.

Budding photographers interested in exploring the art of clicking arresting portraits were joined by Arya Chitra, Head of Operations at Nikon Kids Club, for a workshop titled Close-up Photography. In Arya’s session, the participants explored how the element of lighting works and how the basic rules of photography are applied to click good photographs.

“Pictures start to talk when you use specific lights to click pictures. You should know how and when to use soft lights and when hard lights do the trick,” she said.

She also urged the amateur photographers to not get carried away by pictures taken by famous artists and to have a perspective of their own.

“Never follow any photographer blindly. Understand how they work, what tools they use, and try learning from movie shots and real life situations if you want to improve your skills in photography,” she said.

Additionally, workshops titled ‘Architectural Photography’ and ‘Magical Mystery of Light’, conducted by photographers Beno Saradzic and Mike respectively, also attracted photography enthusiasts of all ages, who wanted to learn from the experts themselves.

Until February 13, Xposure 2021 will be delivering several more workshops led by photography experts who will present a unique opportunity for participants to learn a wide range of skills and gain the expertise they need to excel in the profession.
