This Eid Al-Fitr, Al Qasba – Sharjah’s premier leisure and family destination – is bringing the classic pantomime, “Cinderella” to its Masrah Al Qasba – Theatre. This colourful and immersive adaptation of one of the world’s most-loved folk classics will be a great way to enjoy the Eid holiday with children and friends.

It’s an opportunity, especially for children, to celebrate the festive spirit of the holiday by immersing in learning through theatre. Cinderella’s rags-to-riches journey will be turned into a spectacular adventure on stage with laugh-out-loud comedy, special effects, song and dance featuring popular artists like Elvis and Adele.

Alongside the protagonist, the story’s other favourite characters, Fairy Godmother, whose spell transforms a maid into a princess, the Evil Baroness and Stepsisters who force Cinderella into servitude, and handsome Prince Charming who fell in love with Cinderella, silly Buttons and dashing Dandini – will all be dressed in their best to take the audiences on an exciting and emotional rollercoaster.

Replete with side-splitting slapstick and audience participation, this traditional pantomime will delight all ages. Cinderella is the seventh showcase in Al Qasba’s ‘World of Stories’ theatre series that began in November last year and will continue until December 20, 2019. All shows are organised in collaboration with Event Factory.

Al Qasba’s ‘World of Stories’ series has a special purpose: teaching children through theatre. It has been created to leverage the advantages of experience-based education, as it is one of the most successful methods to teach children about literature, history, art and music. All productions in the series have been made interactive to give young audiences a chance to participate in the proceedings of the show, to gain both knowledge and self-confidence.

Two shows will be staged on 5 June at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. respectively. There will be one show on 6 June at 5:00 p.m. and two shows on 7 June at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.  On each day, before beginning the show, there will be a special parade of the characters in full costumes through Al Qasba to invite young guests.
