Al Montazah Parks, Sharjah’s favourite theme park for family adventures, will honour the Spirit of the Union by showcasing the best of UAE’s culture and heritage during its 48th UAE National Day celebrations for three days, from December 1 – 3, with a series of traditional activities that embody the essence of the Emirati identity.

Al Ayalla, commonly known as the ‘stick dance’, and featuring two rows of men facing each other while chanting Bedouin tunes and waving their sticks to the rhythmic beat of the drums, will take place at 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

The celebratory dance, Liwa, which was brought to the UAE by East African traders and is performed to the lively sounds of the open-mouth flute-like instrument Mizmar, will liven up celebrations at 5:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Families and children can get to know the national bird of the UAE better at the Falcon corner from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. while the Henna station, open from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., is the place to be to adorn your hands with gorgeous, free-flowing floral designs.

A food station specialising in traditional Emirati fare will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

It’s a unique opportunity to experience the best of Emirati culture and heritage – all in one destination!
