SIBF 2020 Visitors Embracing Fair’s ‘Safety First’ Approach
Visitors to the 39th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) are making sure they tick every box in the fair’s detailed registration process, designed to prevent too many people from gathering at Expo Centre Sharjah at any given point in time. Ready to enjoy the book buying experience being offered as part of SIBF 2020’s hybrid programme, visitors across age groups are happily sporting colourful bracelets to assist the fair management, volunteers and security personnel in ensuring a safe and memorable SIBF experience.
The bracelets come in four colours – yellow, orange, green and purple – and are indicative of the four fixed time slots: 10am – 1pm, 1-4pm, 4-7pm and 7-10pm, respectively. Visitors are selecting from and pre-booking one slot on the fair’s website before arriving at the Expo, and Upon arrival, are given a bracelet as per their timeslot selection, to monitor the times of their entry and exit.
Visitors are being notified via text message when their visiting time is about to expire, and are being allowed to stay for the following time slot, space permitting.
