Sharjah Islamic Bank celebrated UAE Flag Day, on November 3 by raising the flag at exactly 11 am, the time of the national anthem in front of the bank’s tower on the Al-Khan Corniche.

In conjunction with other governmental and private institutions, departments and bodies in the country, and in the presence of His Excellency Mohamed Abdalla, CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank, His Excellency Ahmed Saad, Deputy CEO of SIB, and a limited number of officials in the bank, precautionary measures were applied to ensure the health and safety of everyone and to celebrate a national atmosphere that embodies the highest meanings of belonging and affirms the unity and cohesion of the people of the United Arab Emirates under the banner of the Union.

The bank was keen to provide the opportunity for all employees in the main building and all its branches across the country to participate in the celebration “virtually”, which was broadcast through the virtual communication program with the event being transmitted via the bank’s Instagram platform.

The employees in each office participated to convey their celebration and express their happiness on this precious national occasion through the virtual communication program, with their computers placed in the background of photography, as all computers in the bank were unified in a way that bears the state flag and the flag day slogan, amid overwhelming happiness on this national occasion.

His Excellency Mohamed Abdalla said: “Flag Day is a national occasion to celebrate the pride of the United Arab Emirates, and on this day we renew our loyalty to our dear country and our wise leadership, to preserve the achievements and capabilities of our country, which has always carried the banner of tolerance and love for all humanity. This has been true since the era of the founding fathers, who gathered under one banner to announce the founding of the union, which we enjoy these days with its accomplishments and efforts in all fields. Flag Day embodies a great emotional and patriotic value for the people of the Emirates and reflects the meanings of unity, loyalty and true solidarity between them.

His Excellency added: “We were keen to provide the opportunity for all employees to participate virtually in this precious national occasion that establishes pride in the UAE’s flag as a true expression of belonging to the nation whose love we all share and work for the continuation and protection of its development. There is no doubt that these principles and values were enshrined by our wise leadership, in addition to the aspirations of the people of the United Arab Emirates, to continue to progress and prosper, by accepting the extent of the responsibility entrusted to us”.

Flag Day is considered a national occasion celebrated by the United Arab Emirates on the third of November of each year, on the anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, assuming the presidency of the state, and it is one of the most prominent activities in the national agenda where the flag is a symbolism that reflects the unity and sovereignty of the state and its cultural and human achievement.
