SAIF Zone Employees Resumes Work At 100% Capacity
The Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) has announced it began operating at 100% capacity starting today (Sunday) with all employees returning to their offices.
SAIF Zone affirmed that its move comes in line with the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC)’s decision to resume work across government offices at full capacity.
However, employees with chronic diseases were exempted from this decision in addition to some categories announced by the SEC. They will continue to work remotely.
“From early screening of all employees returning to work to ensuring physical distancing, readying offices to receive customers and limiting the number of visitor indoors, we have taken all precautionary measures to guarantee the health and safety of our employees and customers,” SAIF Zone said.
The preventive measures taken by the free zone include preparing circulars of the measures taken internally, which are approved by competent government authorities, providing preventive supplies and sterilizers and continuously monitoring the health status of employees.
The measures also include installing disinfection gates at all entrances, which operate automatically to sterilize employees and visitors, installing thermal cameras to measure their temperature, and protective barriers between employees and customers at all offices.
Other measures involve sterilizing SAIF Zone’s headquarters and facilities, as well as dedicating special rooms for isolation in cases of suspicion.
Boosting confidence in the state’s efforts
HE Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone, lauded Sharjah government’s decision to resume work across government entities, saying that the decision comes in line with the flexible approach adopted by the government to gradually return to normal life.
“It also strengthens confidence in the state’s efforts being made to address and manage the crises in accordance with the requirements of each stage,” Al Mazrouei said, adding that the free zone has done its best to provide a safe and healthy working environment in line with the highest health standards and practices in place.
“Since day one, SAIF Zone was very keen to plan and take necessary precautions that would ensure the health and safety of our customers and employees. We have also planned for the gradual return of our employees at all operational capacities to ensure the continuous provision of our quality services to all businesses and investors at SAIF Zone. This is because investors’ competitiveness and business continuity is our top priority,” SAIF Zone Director highlighted.
