Expo Centre Sharjah Holds Virtual Meeting To Follow Up On Work Progress Amid COVID-19 Outbreak
The Expo Centre Sharjah recently held a virtual meeting to ascertain the smooth functioning of the entire departments and services. The meeting comes as part of the precautionary measure taken by the centre to maintain the health and safety of employees and customers to cope with the government preventive measures amid the outbreak of the emerging coronavirus (COVID-19).
Headed by His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO, Expo Centre Sharjah, the meeting was attended by department heads and managers, where they discussed the general controls of the departments work and the implementation of a package of stimulus measures to ensure business continuity and sustainability, as well as providing support to the economic sectors in the Emirate and reviewing the future plans for the exhibition agenda in the light of the current stage developments.
Enhancing Electronic Systems
Saif Al Midfa highlighted the importance of following up on the tasks assigned to the employees while working remotely and the necessity to strengthen the electronic systems to ensure business continuity and efficiency.
Al Midfa directed the employees to abide by the instructions and to provide the best services for customers, in addition to the keenness to spread health awareness and quit anything that might harm public health, and carry out safety instructions to contain the spread of COVID-19.
“A significant development in the technical field has been achieved by the centre over the past years. This allows us to provide outstanding online services for customers through an integrated system of smart programs and apps. We are committed to adopting Sharjah’s approach in terms of supporting the economic diversification and developing the exhibitions industry and enhancing its competitiveness, so as to maintain Sharjah’s position as one of the region’s most important cities in the exhibitions and conferences industry,” he concluded.
Preventive Measures
Mohammed Al Mazroui, Director of Support Services, Expo Centre Sharjah, shed light on the preventive measure adopted at headquarters and in Khor Fakkan and Al Dhaid, including the daily sterilization and disinfection of all buildings, exhibition halls, all work tools as well as the reception area and other internal and external facilities.
Al Mazroui stressed that all the materials used in the sterilization process are with high efficiency in combating viruses and germs, underlining that hand sanitizers are available everywhere in the workplace to ensure the safety of everyone.
Among the other measures are the activation of the digital fingerprint and the remote working system in response to the decision of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and in line with the directives of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources.
The meeting also focused on the importance of boosting the center’s electronic services and monitoring the customer response to them.
