“Flag Day is a glorious national event carrying a lot of lofty values. It reaffirms the independent national sovereignty. It also symbolizes the strength of our Union, which paved the way for the UAE to be at the forefront of all international forums,” said H.E. Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) in commemoration of the Flag Day which is observed on November 3 every year.

On this occasion, H.E. Saud Salim Al Mazrouei raised the UAE flag at the premises of both Zones with the participation of department directors and employees.

In an atmosphere full of patriotic sentiments, the attendees stood around the UAE flag chanting the national anthem and reaffirming their allegiance to the UAE’s wise leadership. In addition, other national and heritage activities were held to reinforce the national identity, as a response to the call made by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, marking the anniversary of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s assumption of office as president of the country.

Reaffirming Allegiance

H.E. Saud Salim Al Mazrouei added: “Our celebrations at HFZA and SAIF zones come as part of our pride of our homeland and to reaffirm values of loyalty to our wise leadership.

On this day, we also remember the vigorous efforts and relentless work of our founding fathers, which were then carried by the wise leadership honestly and aptly. Thus, it’s not surprising that the UAE has become a symbol of civilization, development, and prosperity.

Concluding his remarks, Al Mazrouei pointed out that the celebrations of Emirati people and their fellow residents who live on this land reflect to what extent they love and respect the nation’s flag, as a symbol of national identity, pride, and glories.

It also embodies the social solidarity and national cohesion on the land of happiness and generosity. It is a land of tolerance, peace, and fraternity for all humanity.

“Raising the UAE flag across the country reminds us of the great efforts made by the founder of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed (may Allah rest his soul in peace) and his founding brothers, who sacrificed everything for the sake of their homeland and nation’s unity,”
