Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) will hold a press conference at its headquarters on Tuesday, October 13, at 10:30 am to announce details of the 45th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) and the 16th edition of the Publishers Conference.

The press conference will be attended by H.E. Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of SBA; Khoula Al Mujaini, General Coordinator of SIBF; Mansour Al Hassani, Director of Publishing Services at SBA; Ahmed bin Saud bin Nasser Al Rawahi, Assistant Director General for Knowledge and Cultural Development at Oman’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, representing Oman, this year’s Guest of Honour; as well as representatives from Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, the official media partner, and Etisalat Group, the official partner, will also attend.

SBA will announce the fair’s guest line-up and full programme across the 12-day event, including the Children’s Programme, Social Media Station, and Cookery Corner, as well as the Guest of Honour agenda, the Sharjah International Library Conference, the Translation Grant, and the 2026 Sharjah International Book Fair Awards.

The press conference will also reveal details of publishers taking part in SIBF and the Publishers Conference, which will address the state of the publishing industry and its key challenges through seminars and workshops drawing on the expertise of industry specialists and professionals.

SBA invites authors, publishers, media representatives, and cultural and media organisations to attend the press conference.
