The “Emiratis for Oud and Perfumes” Platform marked a successful participation at the second edition of the Emirates Perfumes and Oud Exhibition.

Organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the exhibition concludes today, Sunday,after a 10-day run featuring over 100 exhibitors and 500 prominent local and international perfume brands.

Launched by SCCI to promote Emirati business owners and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaged in the perfume industry, the “Emiratis for Oud and Perfumes” Platformshowcased the creative talents of Emirati entrepreneurs who presented a plethora of innovative fragrance and oud products.

These products, which blend the authenticity of the past with modern flair, garnered admiration from the exhibition’s visitors. The Emirati offerings featured contemporary touches and high-quality compositions combining essential oils and botanical extracts, along with a luxurious collection of incense and oud under new brand names.

Mona Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office of the SCCI’s Chairman and in charge of “Emiratis for Oud and Perfumes” Platform,reaffirmed the Sharjah Chamber’s commitment to supporting Emirati entrepreneurs and young talents through innovative initiatives and programs.

She emphasised the importance of enhancing Emiratis’ participation in local and international exhibitions, underscoring the value such engagement adds to the growth of their businesses and ventures across diverse industries, including the perfume and oud sector. Deeply rooted in the UAE’s rich cultural heritage, this sector provides Emirati entrepreneurs with special opportunities to stand out in the global market through new and unique fragrance brands.

Al Suwaidi noted that the “Emiratis for Oud and Perfumes” Platform started with nine members, focusing on supporting Emirati entrepreneurs in the oud, perfume, and oriental Arabian aromatic oils industries.It has now expanded to 21 members, offering a broad range of high-quality Arabian and international perfumes, all locally manufactured in the UAE.

The platform is structured into specific sections, with some dedicated solely to oud, others to perfumes, and some offering both. Covering all the Emirates, it provides a strategic opportunity for Emirati entrepreneurs to showcase their products, share expertise, and further develop their artisanal and marketing skills.

One of the platform’s highlights on display at the second edition of the Emirates Perfumes and Oud Exhibition is the “Code Scent” brand founded by Maryam Al-Kindi who participated in the exhibition for the second time.

The brand offers a diverse range of products, including oud, incense, perfumes, and “mirshed.” Al-Kindi, who began her business in 2020, is currently focused on expanding her product offerings with new fragrances that combine French and Arabian elements, alongside her existing oud and incense products.

Mustafa Al-Zarouni, owner of “Oudna Perfumes” company, expressed his gratitude to the Sharjah Chamber for providing the opportunity to participate in the exhibition via the platform, which serves as direct support for Emirati entrepreneurs in the perfume industry.

Al-Zarouniemphasised the significance of the perfume sector for Emirati business owners, noting that the “Emiratis for Oud and Perfumes” Platform has simplified access to a broad customer base, especially that featured by a prestigious event like the Emirates Perfumes and Oud Exhibition.

He added that participation in such specialised exhibitions serves the purpose of fostering direct interaction with customers by offering a platform to introduce new Emirati brands.He spoke about the products offered by his company, which was established three years ago, highlighting the six distinct perfumes it offers for both men and women, as well as the distribution services provided for national celebrations and weddings.

By focusing on using the finest varieties of oud produced in the UAE market, Al-Zarouni’s products blend traditional Gulf scents with international and European touches to create exquisite and high-quality perfumes.

For his part, Shu’aib Abdullah Al-Suwaidi, founder of the “Dukhan Al-Oud” brand,said that his second participation in the Emirates Perfumes and Oud Exhibition allows him to showcase a collection of distinctive perfume blends.He aims to capitalize on this opportunity to excel in the perfume industry by attracting customers to unique compositions of perfumes made with a blend of various types of oud sourced from different Asian countries.

Al-Suwaidi added that he offers an oriental Arabic fragrance infused with global appeal, featuring a combination of incense, bergamot, and subtle French notes, making it a favorite among both local and international customers.

Meanwhile, Abdullah Al-Shamsi, founder of the Abu Dhabi-based brand “Ash Oud”, expressed his satisfaction with his first participation in the exhibition, which exceeded his expectations due to the high visitor turnout.He showcased a collection of perfumes incorporating a blend of Arabic and French oils, oud oil, oud wood, sprays, and custom mixes. Al-Shamsi extended his gratitude to the organisers of the Emirates Perfumes and Oud Exhibition for the success of the event.
