In February, Sharjah Public Library (SPL) is hosting a series of educational programs aimed at promoting health, well-being, and community engagement, as well as raising awareness about important issues such as sustainability, technology, mental and emotional health, and language learning.

The library has designed a diverse range of activities, workshops, and interactive sessions to provide participants with opportunities to develop creative solutions, enhance their skills, and work towards building a more responsible and sustainable future.

Six Activities at Sharjah Public Library

SPL is hosting six programs during the month, including “For a Healthy Work Environment,” “The Day the Crayons Quit,” “Climate Change,” “Inclusive Education for Disabled Children,” “Food Security: A Sustainable Strategy to Overcome Challenges,” and “Sustainable Cities.” These programs address a variety of topics including health and well-being, sustainability, education, as well as community involvement.

Khor Fakkan Public Library

The Khor Fakkan Public Library is also hosting six programs aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues and personal development. A session titled, “A Loaf of Bread Can Save a Life” will be held, as well as the “A Plastic Planet” program, which educates children on the harmful effects of plastic on the environment, while “Underwater Breathing” teaches participants how to protect aquatic environments. Other programs, including “Work Stress Management,” “Personality Change,” and “Moving to the Future,” introduce participants to the best practices for managing some of life’s stress.

Kalba Public Library

The five interactive activities being held at Kalba Public Library are aimed at enhancing work culture among young people and introducing them to the benefits of library membership. These activities, including “Technology for Youth Status,” “Cyber Blackmail,” and “Mental Health Circle,” provide youth with opportunities to learn how to creatively use technology to find a job, protect themselves against online fraud and scams, and engage in meaningful discussions on mental and emotional health. The program “Fish Bowl Decoration from A to Z” introduces participants to aquatic life and how to protect it.

Al Dhaid Public Library

Al Dhaid Public Library is promoting creativity, environmental awareness, and mental health by hosting four engaging activities, including “Design Thinking,” “Investing in Green Economy,” “Toxic Free Mom,” and “Integrity.” These programs provide a platform for participants to develop creative solutions, raise awareness about environmental protection and mothers’ mental health, and improve teamwork and leadership skills towards building a more creative, responsible, and sustainable future.

Dibba Al Hisn Public Library

Dibba Al Hisn Public Library is delivering six edutainment activities, including “How to Write a News Story?” “Vibrant Ideas to Brighten Up Your Classroom,” and “How to Design Your Own Diet?” Participants will learn essential tips for their health and well-being, as well as the five most spoken languages. The programs “Building Good Work Relationships” and “Active Study Strategies” enhance participants’ professional skills.

Wadi Al Helo Public Library

Finally, Wadi Al Helo Public Library is organising six interactive activities, including “What is Radiant Energy?” which discusses clean energy, “Sustainable Investment in Agriculture,” and “Never Close the Door,” aimed at raising innovative children. The program “Plastics Innovation” inspires and empowers participants by incorporating learning with creativity.
