UAE-based chefs Majed Al Sabagh and his wife, BadyaKhiraledeen, cooked up a delicious storm at the Sharjah Events Festival with live cooking demonstrations that focused on healthy eating and the use of fresh, locally available ingredients.

The ‘Cookery Corner’ was a popular attraction at the two-day event as children and adults alike flocked to learn ways to whip up nutritious and quick and easy recipes.

The couple demonstrated the art of preparing Caesar salad and Alfredo pasta on the opening day, while on the following day, families learnt how to prepare tuna salad in two ways – one with avocado, and another with an extra dose of vegetables as a substitute for mayonnaise. Crepe with date syrup was offered on one day and crepe with spinach, the next day.

The chefs, from the Chef International Hospitality Education and Training Centre in Sharjah, enlivened the sessions by sharing tips on hygiene, food safety and nutrition.
