Over 3500 visitors were entertained by 15 international storytellers from 10 countries, which also included school students and children. They were kept engrossed with 25 live storytelling performances at the Sharjah International Storytelling Festival on Al Noor Island, that concluded yesterday (Saturday).

The third edition was hosted between February 21 to March 16, at the outdoor location of the island with mesmerising views, offering visitors and oral storytelling lovers the opportunity to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience with lasting memories. In the past three years, the visitor footfall to the cultural marathon, touched nearly 15,000.

The event also featured a jam session of stories, folklore superstars, drumming, clapping, music and songs that were performed by all artists in Arabic and English. The sessions involved awe-inspiring miming and theatrics, along with specialised workshops teaching the ancient art of Hakawati.
