Sharjah’s Land Ports Welcome Omani Brothers With Flowers And Symbolic Gifts
With flowers, scarves, and symbolic gifts, the Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Authority, in coordination with the strategic partners, received Omani brothers who came from Sharjah’s land ports after the decision to resume the movement between the two brotherly countries.
The decision to reopen the emirate’s ports came after ensuring its full readiness and implementing the UAE’s approved preventive measures and health protocols. These measures aim to make sure that those living in the UAE or crossing its borders receive the highest standards of health and safety.
“The UAE welcomes Omani brothers to their second country, wishing them good and safe times,” said Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs, Chairman of the Organizational Committee of Ports and Border Points, pointing out that the procedures and preparations that have been made during the past days clearly reflect our love to the brotherly Omani people.
Since the first moments of the decision to resume the movement between the two countries, Khatmat Milaha Border in Kalba saw a large number of Omani brothers, which reflects the deeply rooted and profound ties between the UAE and Oman, he noted.
Al Raisi reiterated the full readiness to facilitate the smooth flow of commercial traffic and the transit of travelers, as well as the application of all the state’s health protocols to ensure safe passage for all travelers, thanks to the joint coordination and fruitful cooperation between all operational authorities working at the ports.
He lauded the tremendous efforts of the strategic partners of the authority and appreciated the role of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, the National Authority for Crisis and Disaster Management, the General Authority for the Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones, and the General Command of the Sharjah Police.
Al Raisi extended special thanks to ‘Tamouh’ Healthcare Company for their distinguished role in providing and ensuring the application of precautionary measures at the ports.
Al Raisi noted the use of the passport as an official document for movement between the land ports of the UAE and Oman
He called on the Omani brothers to enter the country with the Omani passport, noting that the passengers are required to download and use the Al Hosn application, conduct a PCR test valid for a period not exceeding 48 hours, in addition to conducting another one on day four for those staying four days or more, and on day eight for those staying eight days or more.
Omani visitors flocked to the land ports in the Emirate of Sharjah, expressing their happiness with the decision after a period of land ports closure. They underlined that they were waiting for such a decision owing to its implications on their personal lives, family communication, business, and tourism.
