7th Sharjah International Film Festival For Children & Youth Unveils Full Agenda Tomorrow (Monday)
FUNN, the Sharjah-based organisation that promotes media arts learning among children and youth, will be announcing the full agenda of the 7th edition of Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth (SIFF), at a press conference tomorrow (Monday) in Sharjah’s Zero 6 Mall at 9:00am.
The timetable and locations of movie screenings in the upcoming edition, celebrity guests and renowned filmmakers who will be visiting the festival this year, and other notable details of the festival, which runs from October 13-18 will be shared at this press event. The list of workshops that will be delivered, and this year’s SIFF awards jury members who will be choosing the top submissions from in all seven categories will also be shared.
FUNN invites all media representatives, photographers and those interested in learning about the programme of the upcoming edition of SIFF to attend.
SIFF is the first event of its kind in the region dedicated to bringing the nation’s young populace closer to cinema and culture. It is organised under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA).
Actor and director, Abdullah Al Junaibi will be attending the press conference. The Emirati national has many awards under his belt, with the latest one at the 14th Dubai Film Festival in 2017 where he won the best director award.
This edition, SIFF will be celebrating Sharjah’s recognition by UNESCO as World Book Capital 2019, by focusing on book-inspired cinema and help young audiences see the role of literature in shaping and nurturing the arts, especially films.
In the previous edition, the festival screened 138 films that were selected from among 502 films from almost 54 countries.
