Sharjah World Music Festival to Hold ‘Magical Classic and Jazz Night’

Sharjah World Music Festival 2018 (SWMF), presented by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) in a strategic partnership with Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) and Al Majaz Amphitheatre, and organised by Furat Qaddouri Music Centre, has announced a magical evening of classical music and jazz on January 18, 2018, at The Flag Island Amphitheatre.

Multi-award winning violinist, singer, dancer and Theremin player Katica Illényi, one of Hungary’s most versatile and popular musicians, and Mohammed Othman Siddiq, who will be conducting the SWMF Orchestra, will star in a sublime evening at the fifth edition of the festival, which runs from 12 to 19 January.

Ms Illényi has been honoured with some of Hungary’s most prestigious state awards and her recordings have earned her several gold and platinum record sales internationally, adding to her reputation as a musician whose talents span many genres and cultures.

Sharjah Ladies Club ‘Winter Wonderland Camp’ Turning Out To Be A Children’s Favourite

Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC) is seeing a huge turnout of kids at their recently launched children’s winter programme at three of SLC’s facilities, BasateenPreschool Centre, Collage Talent Centre and Sports Complex. Recreating the magic of a winter wonderland, the camp themed ‘Cold Days, Heart-warming Joy’, will offer an exciting variety of entertainment and educational activities until January 11, 2018.

The camp’s creative workshops are enabling children to acquire habits that will enable them to use their free time gainfully and start developing essential life skills early on. From outdoor activities like swimming, paddle boarding, ice skating, Zumba, pottery, field trips and more to the literary joys of live storytelling and puppet theatre shows, and unlimited art and crafts – six different camps with plentiful activity offerings targeting boys and girls.

Al Majaz Waterfront’s Spectacular Display Lights Up The Skies For 2018

Sharjah’s Al Majaz Waterfront captivated the crowds last night with a spectacular 10-minute New Year celebration of fireworks that lit up the skies for miles around the emirate. The anticipated audience flocked to the area to countdown the clock to welcome2018 and were treated to one of the most mesmerising displays in the city.

Alongside with New Year Celebration, Al Majaz Waterfront launched its new concierge service; adding a luxurious touch to the experience. The service offers restaurant bookings and special requests for balcony views, as well as advanced parking spots. Many visitors were delighted by the quality of service and the hospitality.
