As a part of the ongoing ‘Sharjah Summer’ campaign, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has revealed the exciting new activities and promotions, including water-based and family oriented events, at the Al Majaz and Al Qasba Waterfront in Sharjah. This falls in line with “Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021”, which aims at positioning the emirate as a leading local, regional and global tourist destination.
According to the SCTDA, the ‘Sharjah Summer’ campaign is a unique initiative focused on throwing the spotlight on the emirate’s tourism potential, which includes must-see places, major exciting events and highly attractive promotional activities–all developed and designed to position Sharjah as a highly preferred tourism haven. In addition, the campaign also aims to offer a unique experience to tourists and visitors.
The Emirate of Sharjah’s vision to become one of the world’s leading summer destinations and a global hub for family-oriented leisure and tourism received a new boost with the active participation of the local tourism and hospitality industry in the first ever Sharjah Summer Campaign. The initiative aims to position the emirate as an ideal summer destination for local, regional, international markets, in line with its goals to attract 10 million tourists, under the ‘Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021’.
A host of the hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, and leisure and entertainment companies, including Sharjah-based airline Air Arabia, are participating at the summer campaign which was launched for the first time this year by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA). Overlooking the golden sand dunes of Sharjah’s middle region, Al Badayer Oasis will have two new buildings added alongside its existing components, with the 955 square metre additions increasing its investment from AED 45 million to AED 60 million. Kids of all ages are expected to have their own fill of fun and enjoyment as they take part in the many activities offered by the “Happy Holiday Camp”, which includes workshops, games, arts & crafts and other activities aimed at teaching them more about the emirate’s rich culture and history. Participants will also take part in visits around the Sharjah Museum and also across other fun and interesting sites featuring breath taking landscapes that strengthens the UAE’s position as a must-see tourist destination.
